Paul brings a rich and diverse dance background to Sanura Dance, with experience spanning multiple styles and a strong commitment to inclusivity and social change. His journey in dance began at 19, and has since encompassed roles as both a dancer and a facilitator in various dance communities.
Experience and Achievements
Seven years as a salsa and bachata follow, including serving as treasurer for Oxford University Salsa Society.
Six years of flamenco experience, including work at the Museo de Baile Flamenco in Seville and assisting Paloma Gomez of the National Ballet of Spain.
Current employee at Siobhan Davies Studios, a renowned contemporary dance studio focused on social change.
Graduate of the NEXT choreography course at Siobhan Davies Studios (2022) and ongoing member of the NEXT artists' collective.
Featured as a ballroom dancer with Pink Jukebox in the 'sportingqueer' exhibition, with photos displayed at various locations including the Pride House at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Dance Styles and Affiliations
Paul's versatility shines through his proficiency in hustle, salsa, ballroom/Latin, bachata, Argentine tango, swing, flamenco, and contemporary dance. For the past three years, he has been an active member of both Hustling London and Pink Jukebox communities, the latter being a space of historical importance for same-sex dance.
